Today's Prayer

Prayer

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. — Philippians 4:6

Prayer, like breathing, is life-essential. When we read the Scriptures, aided by the Holy Spirit, we breathe in. When we pray, we exhale. We breathe in the word of God and breathe out our prayers - words inspired from what we've read, born out of the insight God has given us. We are taught by God.

Today's Prayer

June 9th

Lord, our labor in you is not in vain. Though we walk at times a trail of tears, sowing as we go, joy will come in the morning; the time of reaping will come. All glory to you Father who strengthens us by your Spirit, who supplies all we need, who fills us with the knowledge of Jesus and your great love for us. You build your house, you build your kingdom, according to your greatness and blessing. You lean in with benefit and we are benefited and grow and accomplish.

This is all a wonderful work of your hands and we, as unworthy servants, cry out to you, “Worthy, worthy, worthy the One who has made us worthy.”

We, the unworthy, cry out to you, “Worthy! Worthy! Worthy! The One who has made us worthy.”

June 8th

Though my eyes may fail and weaken, you are my portion and you do all things well, for you are the Faithful One. Our times are in your hands, and you sit upon an awesome throne above all.

Lord, would you bring health, healing, and restoration to my family? Refresh our souls, Faithful Shepherd.

My words fail me and I am not full, but I leave that up to you, for when I do not know what to pray, you are praying for me; when I lack wisdom, you provide wisdom. You are my portion and my guard, my fullness when I am empty, my strength when I am weak. When I lack motivation, you cover me and pull me through. You are my God forever and ever.

June 7th

Father, you are sovereign, ruler over all circumstances. You have included us into your kingdom, as citizens, as members of the heavenly roster, no longer foreigners. Your grace is for all who would believe and receive it, and we are glad to do so.

Even in the struggle and suffering of your people, you are working for our good, and we are grateful.

Today, would you help me to walk and work properly, aligned with you, your truth, applying what you have taught me, that I may grow and allow all things to lovingly discipline and train me as your child. You provide an endless resource of strength to us, your saints.

I also ask for your wisdom for your people as we face challenges and decisions today. May we honor you in our choices. And also, may we enjoy our laboring as you bring success to all we do. You are the Builder; you are the Watchman.

June 6th

Lord, today I need abundant grace – grace that will overflow in every situation – that I may prosper in every good work that you give me to do; that my labor may be fruitful.

The enemy has sent messengers. They are attracted to me like a yellow jacket to a colorful shirt. They harass and distract. But you work all things together for our good, and even in this, you will prosper. Thank you and I bless you, Lord.

I pray, Holy Spirit, guide my steps, my heart, my thoughts. You still speak to your people. Thank you!

Jesus, let me be like you – abundant in grace, love, and forgiveness, accepting, able, willing.

I praise you Father, maker of heaven and earth, my Father, the glorious Father.

June 5th

Lord, you first in all we do today. We acknowledge you as we labor, do, act. May you be behind all of our acting, doing, and laboring. Unless you build the house, unless you watch over our works and care for them, it is all of nothing; it is all in vain.

Father, would you help me to be a present father, a willing parent, a wise counselor, speaking your words and being silent when silence is wiser than words; may I be always listening. Let this heart be completely forgiving and always generous.

I seek your kingdom and your righteousness. Each moment, Lord, be first. And now I commit this day to you, and receive you, the peace I have in Jesus, the deep assurance that I am yours and that you will never leave nor forsake me.
