Today's Prayer

Prayer
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. — Philippians 4:6
Prayer, like breathing, is life-essential. When we read the Scriptures, aided by the Holy Spirit, we breathe in. When we pray, we exhale. We breathe in the word of God and breathe out our prayers - words inspired from what we've read, born out of the insight God has given us. We are taught by God.
Today's Prayer
November 8th
Holy Spirit, come. As fresh wind, as refreshing water, as fire. Would you come and wash over us and ignite our hearts with passion for you? Remind us of the words of Jesus – his words to find rest and live in faith.
We need you Lord, we confess. Open our eyes; steady our hearts. Give us faith that sees and understands. May our lives point others to you and inspire them into service.
Let our hearts be completely yours, consistently. May I know the joy of your nearness and walk in step with your Spirit. Remove guilt and may I fully enjoy that which you grant to enjoy – friends, family, food, simple pleasures. Tether this heart to the wonder of you.

We are formed in weakness yet filled with treasure. By your design Lord, and to your glory, we suffer in these frames of dust and prove that you alone are our salvation; you alone are the victor and bringer of victory.
So be praised today and fill our hearts with the hope that comes from knowing you are with us in our strength and weakness, in our victory and defeat. Through it all, through it all, may we trust your perfect plan Jesus.
Lord, for the weak I pray today – for those who suffer and see no way out, who have no hope or are despairing, lacking understanding and sight to see your hand bringing victory and guiding and keeping. Today, comfort the downtrodden and despairing. Bring the light that brings hope to the soul.

Jesus, our first love, let us live out of you and live for you, enjoying, loving, and resting in you. Return us to our first love, Living Water, Spring of Life Evermore. Our souls truly thirst for you – let us not find drink anywhere else but in you. Tame our wild and wandering hearts. We confess, we need you desperately.
Come Lord Jesus, come.
Your presence is our delight Lord, your favor our desire. Near to you, we feel the warmth of the fire of your love. Here we are, no place else we’d rather be.
Fan into flame the smoldering wick, heal the broken and bent lives. Gentle and Lowly One, we come to you, our wisdom, our teacher, our supply.
November 5th
Here I am Lord. “Come”, you said, so I come, with heart of gratitude, a posture of humility and trust, casting all my cares upon you. You see it all, every dark chamber, every stained-glass lighted room, and your love for me is not swayed, your favor never put on hold.
You are a stream; you are life to my soul and so I come and I wait. Draw near! You have invited. Open! You have called. Welcome into this place.
And so, your eternal desire is met, begun here on earth, as you dwell by your Spirit in me, in your holy people, your church. And we desire the same, that you would be our God and we your people.
Let not the worries and cares of this world draw us away from you. Now I draw near to you, my Savior and my God.
November 4th
Lord, let not our hearts become stagnant. May we thirst for living water, the flowing streams of your life. May we find satisfaction there and not be drawn away by the insidious pull of the patterns and pleasures of this world. This is not our home.
Delight yourself in the Lord, you have said, and you will give us the desires of our hearts.
As we approach this day, its tasks and duties, we acknowledge you; it is the Lord Christ we are serving. Let our eyes look to you always our Master, conductor of our steps, and may we live a life pleasing to you, in alignment with your calling.
Would you strengthen your people, Father. Strengthen us with joy and rest and peace of heart and mind.
