May 31st
Father, I want to walk in the grace you’ve given me – to do what you’ve called and strengthened me to do, whatever that may be. Keep me from ministry envy and calling jealousy. May I walk worthily in the path you desire for me in these days you have ordained, appointed, and formed for me. Thank you.
I woke up this morning with your breath in my lungs, and the gift of life from you. So, I am acknowledging that and giving thanks to you for that. Let this day be abundant with your life, Jesus!
You have lined up my experiences to your word, and you continue to. You make straight my paths and lead me in righteousness. May my life glorify your beautiful name, Jesus.
May 30th
Lord, would you give me a posture of waiting, an attitude of hoping in you. When my feathers are ruffled, let me not (remind me, Lord!) go to my default, my fleshly comforts. Instead, let me remain steadfast, held up by your strength. Cause me to rise above me, my tendencies, quirks, character flaws, and weaknesses, into the freedom I have in you, Jesus.
And so, I wait. In the midst of activity and daily happening, I hope in you. Amen.
You give me comfort and contentment in great abundance, and I receive that. Now let the result of that be eyes full of light – a generous spirit. You have spoken, it is more blessed to give than to receive. Let it be, Lord, that I would overflow to others and invest in the poor, lost, and weary. I have all that I need and all is provided by you, the boundless one with no limits.
With hands open and hearts willing, let us give in your Name.
May 29th
Jesus, you are Lord – greatly humbled and now highly exalted. You who ruled the heavens became a servant of the earth and went to the lowest place, the cross – a symbol of surrender. Oh! Who can live like this?
Help me, Lord! I wake up and think about me, I lay down and think about my needs, I go through the day with my eyes on me. Oh misery! Lord Jesus, let not my life be just about me, but rather let it be a life that considers others above me. Let me have that humble attitude that you had in yourself, Gentle and Lowly One. There is none like you, a king who lowered himself to live in the gutters of this earth. I praise you and adore you.
Jesus, remove from me vain conceit and selfish ambition. Oh Father, help me to be like your treasured Son. I come to you now and seek mercy and grace. Amen.
May 28th
Lord, you are victorious – in my life and over the grave. You have put to shame the enemy: all his lies, and all his schemes. You, Jesus, who is in me, is greater than the abusive accuser, my enemy. You are risen and that risen life is in me. One day I will rise and be with you forever!
But for today, the earthly now, be with me in my weakness. Be made strong and prominent in my trial. Where else can I go but to you, the One who gives the words of eternal life? My hope is in you – my only comfort found in the assurances you grant.
Today, this weekend, and this upcoming week, would you give us great assurance? We wait in hope for you. Would you lead your people to still waters, to open pastures of provision, and to great supply in the midst of our enemies? You, Jesus, are in me and I am in you. I love you Lord; open these eyes to see and this heart to feel!
May 27th
Father, would you ignite in me, by the Spirit of your Son, a passion for you – a heartfelt, spirit-deep, longing and rejoicing in you? Return me to my first love.
May I worship you wholeheartedly in spirit and in truth.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Let my heart and mind be set upon the eternal living water and focused on you Jesus, the Lamb in the middle of the throne. Uphold me with a willing spirit, a faithful life loving you, and remove from me the love of this world.
My heart is yours, let it leap for joy at the sound of your voice. May the deep of you call out to the deep of me and see me respond with the sound of worship. I praise you Lord and rejoice in the gift of music you have given me to worship you with.
May 26th
Father, you have made us members, citizens, holy servants who praise you. Thank you for grafting us in, for including us in your plan for this earth, and for taking us into your eternal grace which we will experience forever.
We ask that you would give us joy in this great mystery revealed and that we would have opportunity and boldness to share it.
Give us understanding into this mystery. Grant us greater and greater revelation to embrace your grace and to grow in the grace and knowledge of you, Jesus.
Now let this heart rest in the peace of assurance that comes from your Holy Spirit. As a watchman in your temple, may I always pray, always worship, and always praise you, my God.
May 25th
Let all the earth praise your name, God. Make your renown known again, even in this generation. Let all your works praise you; let there be no misdirected praise, faithful Creator.
You still the waves, Almighty God, Son of God; you rule over them. Because of your great love, you chose us. You are good and all your ways are loving and faithful. We trust your ways; we trust you in our lives.
All that we do, all our plans for today, we commit into your faithful and loving hands. Guide and hold us fast with your hand upon us. You are our Shepherd, Jesus, and all that we need – rest, provision, protection – is in you. So, we come to you, Gentle and Humble One gladly receiving us.
We praise your name Lord! Yours is the name above all names.
May 24th
Father, would you enlarge our hearts with a visitation of your gracious and generous life-giving Spirit? It is better to give than to receive, and we have received much to give. Remove from us a stingy, fearful heart and replace it with a heart that knows you and is comforted by the truth that you are our Shepherd; we shall never be in want.
We rely on you in all things, spiritual and physical. You created the heavens! You knit us together! You will never leave or forsake us.
Let us pursue the heavenly treasures and live from that.
“Be anxious for nothing”, you said, so we cast our cares on you and walk this day in the freedom that allows us to serve you without fear. We are sorry for missing that wonderful mark, and embrace your freedom and forgiveness, gracious God.
May 23rd
Father, sometimes I shine and sometimes I seem to dull to darkness. But your love endures forever. When I am faithless you remain faithful. You keep your word, and your promises to me. Amen.
You’ve called me to follow you, to lay down my life, to be salt and light. Well, here I am, willing spirit, weak flesh; but I come. I have no hope outside of you. Yet all I have is yours – my wife, my children, my comfort, all that I possess and earn. I submit it to your hands. Prosper it and uphold me with a willing spirit.
You will never leave nor forsake me, and I am still with you. May I get about your business Father, doing your will and seeing your Name be glorified and well-spoken of. I lay aside the guilt, shame, doubt, and receive your commission. Restore and strengthen me Jesus and by your Spirit accomplish your will in my life. Amen!
May 22nd
Father, thank you for the company and fellowship of brothers – wise, diverse, varied perspectives and insights – placed in your body as you have set them. What a gift community is, in you, Jesus. Thank you, Lord.
I pray for strength, according to your surpassing might, the wisdom that is in Christ accompanied with knowledge, discernment, and understanding, to be upon my brothers. Thank you for them; now bless them, Lord.
Let your peace rest on us, along with a desire for the truth. Father, let your holy name be spoken of well, your kingdom be brought here, your word go to the nations and fill hearts. Come, Lord Jesus, come.
May 21st
Father, you are rich in love and you care for me. Therefore, I cast all my anxieties, all my burdens, on you. You keep me from tragedy, from great fall. I have no want, no need. You have shown yourself faithful to me, in my natural needs and spiritual needs, my cup overflows.
Would you remove from me, the knee-jerk reaction to worry – this infirmity that Satan uses to stir up trouble? All my days are in your hands. And you care for me. I hear the birds outside of my window. They sing each morning, praising you for your hand which provides and cares for them. You value me far more than these dear creatures that you love.
Fill our hearts with faith, our eyes with light, and our minds with understanding. How great you are, and how you care for us. What is man that you consider him? You sent your Son to show your love for us.
May 20th
Let us, Father, remember your people, consider your body, delight in your church. We are part of something greater than ourselves, even greater than our local assembly. We are a part of the world-wide, global church of Jesus.
I pray for my brothers and sisters who now suffer, who are alone, persecuted, discouraged. Would you, by your ever-present Spirit, lift them up, wherever they may be, near or far? Deliver, rescue, and send help, Lord; send miracles, send what and who is needed.
We are included as citizens, members; we are your temple. Would you build your church in Jesus? May we be a wonderful and joyful dwelling for your Spirit as we worship in spirit and truth, with sincere minds and true hearts; pure, fervent worship that creates the sound of deep calling to deep and accurately represents you, Father, bringing glory to your hallowed, to-be-praised, Name.
May 19th
Lord, would you realign my perspective? My mind needs renewing, reprogramming, to approach your word and correctly understand it. Let my life and my thinking be aligned to your kingdom ways. Your kingdom come!
The enemy stirs up trouble, but you bring peace. Life places weight on us, but you lift our burdens and cause our spirits to soar. When I am shaken, I come to you for stability and strength. When my emotions try to take center to rule, I submit to you, resisting the one who stirs my soul. Lord, calm the waters!
Right now, you are praying for me, interceding on my behalf. Thank you! Lord, I cannot do this without you. You are my strength and steady stay and you keep me strong all my days, even in the storm.
May 18th
Father, I come boldly as you’ve invited. And I cast on you all my cares and worries. I confess it is because of your great love, merciful God, that you receive and save completely – your great love for me, your mighty life-giving salvation for me.
Lord, this flesh, it hangs on, it beckons me to do wrong and drift. Oh, this sin nature, void of your love. And so, I pray, for my spirit is willing, but oh my flesh is weak. I know this well.
But now awaken my heart and let my spirit soar; let me know and understand your great love for me. You sanctify, you remind me by your Spirit, you comfort and console. Let my heart be a receiving heart and let my eyes rest on you, the true Light, and my salvation.
My hope is in you alone, my Maker, my Shepherd, my Guide.
May 17th
Father, would you send us with your invitation to the streets, the far country, where the outcast and forsaken are, to the blind and the poor? And strengthen those who are now out there, inviting and calling with your call, Jesus, to “come.”
Give us your heart for those who don’t know you and forgive me of the laziness brought on by distraction and worldly comfort. Instead, let me share your favor, blessing, and grace with those who do not know it. Here I am Lord, prepare this heart.
You have promised to hold me fast, to keep me strong to the end. All your ways are faithful and loving, and you will fulfill your purposes for me. I bow my knee and ask for a willing spirit to tell others of your ways, with the boldness, grace, and stoutness of heart you give.
In Jesus’ name, according to your word… amen.
May 16th
Lord, how great you are, my all in all. Your glory is over all the earth, from the tiniest grains of sand to the largest planet in our solar system, your majesty spans it all.
For every grain of sand on this planet, there are more created celestial bodies in the heavens, and for every small rock and grain on each of those creations of yours – well they are uncountable. You are unfathomable, even more so than your creation which we barely understand.
And yet you choose to know us and to let yourself be known to us. Let us know you truly Lord, as incomplete as this knowledge is, let us grow in our knowledge of you. Thank you for your word, thank you for your Spirit, thank you for your Son, thank you for coming to us in our darkness and bringing light to our eyes, hearts, and minds.
May 15th
Lord, you know me. What a wonder to think that you search me out, that you perceive my thoughts and understand the depths of who I am. You know me completely and quickly; in an instant of time, you understand all that I think and what I will say, before I even say it.
I can’t even comprehend this, but would you open my understanding?
You know me fully and you love me deeply. You love me by being with me and touching my shoulder gently with your guiding hand, holding me fast, my faithful Father. How I love you, Lord!
No matter how dark the day, you are light, and simply by being there, all darkness is dispelled, that absence of light, that dark void, is filled by the light of your presence, my God who is light.
I praise you my Lord, my light, my salvation.
May 14th
Lord, I need humility in my life. How I lean towards self-significance and self-importance and put the weight of trust too fully on these. Often, Lord, I have placed myself at the head of the table, in that desirous place of importance. Let not my own lips be that which praises me, but rather let another speak well of me when appropriate.
Humbly I come, as I am, known fully by you, in true sincerity. You are my God and I am your child, your adopted one. And so, I can humbly submit myself to your orderings, your path, your plans, your faithful saints, in comforting trust knowing that you are my Father.
Lord, today, would you help us, your saints, to walk in this manner, with this lowly attitude, in hope, knowing that you will exalt us in due time, God of all grace and ability.
Amen.
May 13th
Lord, may our prayers be pleasing before you – humble requests aligned with your heart and desire and filled with the passion of our hearts. Let our hearts and thoughts be in line with you, who you are, your character, your glory. Lord, be glorified!
You are sovereign Lord, you see all, you rule over all, yet you call us to pray, to ask of you. Let our asking be sincere and honest and find its restful resolve in you. We look to you as we pray, our refuge, our good answer.
My heart delights in your grace, your wonderful, well-pleasing deeds and works that you have accomplished globally and in my life, personally. Thank you, Lord, I’m rejoicing in you.
Let this heart be at rest knowing that you, the all-powerful Being, hold in your heart plans for me that are for good.
May 12th
Lord, we look to you, our portion, our glorious inheritance, our deliverer. Would you free us from the slimy pit of self-absorption, the prison of self? Deliver us from us. Lift our eyes to see beyond our comfort and personal concerns.
Indeed, you care about what we care about; but in that, give us concern for others as well. Lift us up into a lifestyle of love.
Firstly, I look to you. When I am alone, with none as a refuge, you are my portion and refuge; and always it is true. I am grateful for the fellowship of friends. Thank you for brothers and sisters I can turn to, who pray for me, and that I can pray for.
Lord, would you enlighten the eyes of our hearts that we may know the riches and incomparably great power you have given and the gift are to us. Let us always look to you primarily.
May 11th
Father, teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
Lord, my heart is heavy, forgive me if it should not be and remove from me any pride, arrogance, or judgmentalism. But I’m asking that truth, not emotion, would lead us – truth from your word, correctly divided, applied by your good Spirit. Keep us from the theology that fuels our emotions but leaves our souls dry and without wisdom and understanding.
Would you free us from the ways of the world, the faulty patterns put forth and the vain philosophies embraced. Let our itching ears no longer be scratched but let our hearts be led by you.
This is heavy on my heart Father and I bring it to you. I pray that you, Jesus, would be correctly understood and spoken of, that we would represent and glorify you truthfully!
May 10th
Lord, keep us your people from blindness. And would you give us awareness, keeping us in your Spirit. May we have eyes open to all that you are doing and have focus. May our devotion to you never become ritual or religious habit, but zealous pursuit with the joy of an awareness of your nearness.
We hunger and thirst to see you move powerfully in the lives of people; we have seen that! If we will pause and consider, we will know – you work through us and in lives around us. Thank you, Lord.
Fill our hearts with joy and a spirit of encouragement that would pour out to others, building up your body to your glory and pleasure which brings us joyful benefit as you lean into us. Welcome into this place, Lord; you are welcome here always, as you will. We trust you and hope in your lovingkindness, steadfast and strong.
May 9th
Lord, today may we worship you in spirit and in truth. May our hearts rise thrilled to praise you. May our souls bless you today and forever.
You are good and all you do is pure and righteously done. Lord, there is none like you. May we see you today for who you are: compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love, forgiving, and good to all.
Father, today would you swell our hearts with the knowledge of you. Deep calls to deep in the beautiful sounds of worship – our connection to you, your connection to us – the sound of our spirits being churned, stirred, and touched by you.
Lord, we hunger and thirst for you, our king, our savior, glorious and majestic, unfathomable, our great desire.
May 8th
Father, thank you for your word, our constant companion, the truth we cling to, our reference and inspiration. It is milk and meat to our souls. Thank you for speaking to us personally through your Spirit, through the understanding and the light He brings. Thank you for the personal promises and reminders He has comforted us with!
Oh, let the word of Christ dwell richly in us that we may overflow with encouragement to others. And give us wisdom and discernment to know what to speak and when to speak it. May we be worthy vessels, formed in the image of your Son, by the working of your Spirit.
Today, Father, let us walk under the umbrella of your word, reminded of its treasured promises and principles, led by your Spirit, secure in your embrace, walking in the warming sunshine of your Son.
May 7th
Father, you meet us in our desperation, in that place of humility and willingness, in our sensitivity and exhaustion. You come at the right time. Open our eyes to see you, in front of us, hand extended to our inability, willing to heal, willing to set free, willing to deliver.
Give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation that we may know you better. This is our base need, to know you more deeply. We look to you, not the doctor, not the boss, not the president, not even ourselves. We are a passing mist, but you are forever and forever faithful.
In our lives – the lives of your people – in your body – the church to whom you’ve been given as head over all things – work out our experiences that we might know as Jacob came to know: “you are my God”.
My help. My provider. The One who watches over me on this journey and brings me safely home. In your name I pray.
May 6th
Father, I pray you would free those who are bound by legalism and those trapped in the cycle of the patterns of the world, that you would lift those who are bowed down and set the prisoner free.
We are your body Jesus! Employ us to your service to aid those downtrodden by false religious ideas, to see the trampling of Satan’s schemes and a stop to his thievery and killing. End the destruction of selfishly ambitious men, Lord. Some of us have been through it, and here we are. Your will be done, your kingdom come.
All things were made by you, in you, Jesus. And all things are held together, by you powerfully – this is a mystery to us. But you are the head over all things and you do all things well, and out of love. Love the “sinner” through us – men and women created in your image. Restore, return, revive in our time this great army of dry bones. Holy Spirit, come …
May 5th
Father, you are our teacher and we are grateful. Speak to us Lord, removing all that hinders and form us into your image. You have placed in us your anointing, your Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus, who teaches us and guides us and reminds us. Thank you, Lord!
Remove from us, your people, all that would grieve your Spirit: backbiting, anger, bitterness, malintent, evil thoughts, dissension. And would you grow in us, your body, the body of Christ, peace, true unity – unity of the Spirit? Guide our attitudes, Lord, towards others, that we would look on others softly, without judgement or contempt, and with a spirit of humility.
Let us view others with your eyes and bring encouragement and words – your word, the word of Christ – to build up in love, in wisdom, in truth.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
May 4th
Thank you, Father, for those you have put in our lives – those who love and care for and pray for us. I am so grateful and words aren’t always enough to describe my heart’s appreciation.
You are indeed our portion. In so many ways we see your glorious hand at work in our lives, reaching down to our humbled state. From the highest heavens to the depths of the sea, your glory is revealed and we acknowledge you in all that is around us. How merciful you are to work so in the sons of men and to show such kindness. I praise you, Lord!
I pray for my brothers and sisters, those who feel alone and untouched. Send me Lord! Here I am, your servant. Send comfort to the lonely, send companionship to the hurting. Freely we have received, now may we freely give.
May 3rd
You’ve put a new song in my heart to sing and I praise you. I have tasted and seen that you are good Lord and kind and I praise you. You establish us. Bring your kingdom into our midst and bless us in the heavenlies, providing a tasty overflow of that which is to come. Let your kingdom come! And let your will be done.
May we see that we may speak and move and realize. Lord let us be and sow the rest and shelter that the oppressed need. Whether they are oppressed by poverty, racial injustice, man, or the devil, let us be your provision of relief to them. And be glorified and praised in it. Let the name of Jesus be praised.
Father, would you give us wisdom this day, strength to carry out your work, and boldness to stand and declare your truth?
In Jesus’ name, amen.
May 2nd
Lord, you stilled the water and you forgave sin. You make all things new. You restore broken relationships and surprise us with blessings beyond our imagination. I praise you Lord for your excellent, abundant, surpassing, and unequaled greatness. You cause the impossible to happen.
Your plans for us are indeed good – in this life, and eternally in the next. You are working and nothing is beyond your power and love. Father, would you ignite our hearts with praise by filling us with these assurances? Great is our God and greatly to be praised.
I dwell on your grace, delight in it; for it is evident in my life. Thank you.
Now I pray that all would come to know in a deep, growing, relational, revelatory way, your grace. I pray people would receive the Truth, the real Jesus and who he is. Lord, let them see! Holy Spirit, would you convict and draw?
May 1st
Jesus, when you rose from the dead, you swallowed up death forever and made a way to wipe away every tear. You removed the sting of death and I will live forever; with my brothers and sisters, I will live forever.
And we shall be to the praise of your glorious grace, side by side, reflections of the wondrous Creator, presented fully in his image, all that we were meant to be, like Jesus, face to face with the light of the knowledge of God’s glory.
We will be those shining Jesus, shining the Father, reflections of Him, to His glory; children brought to fulfillment, sons and daughters. And no one will remove us from that place for all eternity.
I am yours and you are mine; you, my God, and I, your son. Forever it will be: glory and grace from age to age, forever on through eternity. Me with you, us together. Forever.
