June 30th

Lord, in love you correct and discipline us for our own good. Let us not despise your loving guidance whether in the form of circumstance or words. “Despise not the discipline of the Lord.”

There is beauty in your correction, Father – treasure in your guidance. Keep us from a bad attitude towards all that you do to safeguard and bless us. Let us know your heart in all circumstances. Father, I repent of such attitudes that would try to wiggle me out of the fleshly discomfort your loving chastening brings.

Thank you for the trials and struggles that are for my good, to teach me. They work together under your wise plan for good.

I commit this day to you and acknowledge you in it.

June 29th

Father, I pray for those you have placed in and given to your church, the body of Christ the Son. I pray that they would walk in and fulfill their calling to prepare your people for works of service done in truth and love which builds up your church.

You have called, you have skilled, you have empowered and gifted by your Spirit much like, I would imagine, the artisans of old who helped in the building of the tabernacle. Now, Lord, would you activate and motivate your apostles, prophets, evangelists, and pastors and teachers, to prepare your people to walk in the good things you have prepared for us to do, zealously!

And thank you for these gifts, these men, you have given to us.

June 28th

Father, would you give your people a hunger for truth? Your word is truth; purify us by it. Let your word be our standard. In a world where desire and pleasure take preeminence, keep your children from such foolishness. Let us walk in your ways.

Thank you for faith that weathers the storm. Thank you that feelings, though at times enjoyed, are not our hope and stay; no, your word is. We hope in you.

Father, strengthen your people with your might that we may stand and let us grow to maturity in unity, not tossed by fickle deceptions but grounded in you, Jesus, the Faithful One.

Let all our desire be in you.

June 27th

Father, you work in us faithfully, bringing us to the day of consummation when we, who are now children, shall see Jesus perfectly and be like Him. All tendency to evil will be laid aside forever, and we, in strifeless rest, will bear your perfection. How we long for that day of glorious grace.

Until then, you abandon us not. You will never leave or forsake us, your adopted ones, to our own stubborn desires. We can only approach your throne of grace to receive the mercy and find the grace to make us holy as you are.

Let our heads grow not weary of looking to you – you are the lifter of our heads – and let not our arms become tired of lifting up the cup of your salvation with grateful hearts.

For all the saints, in Jesus’ name.

June 26th

Father, your tender mercy is a treasure valued and embraced. You are my Father and I am your son, adopted in Christ. Thank you for that.

He walked in perfect obedience, wholeheartedly, in your ways. Blameless. And now I am in him, the perfect man, God in flesh. And now I am the righteousness of God – blameless, above reproach, accepted. All this Jesus has graced and blessed me with.

I bow my knee to this truth and am forever grateful. Amen.

June 25th

Lord, you are my righteousness. Would you convict the world of sin? In your great mercy, you said you would convict this world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment. I’m asking for that now – for my neighbors, for my co-workers, for the “sinner” in the streets, for the arrogant and self-reliant, for the deceived.

Father, I believe that revival comes when eyes are opened and hearts are drawn to you. Let us, your body, be ready when the influx of the lost seeking you come our way. Let us feed them with truth and not watered down words of worldly appeal. Let us represent you. I’m asking that you would be glorified in the coming influx.

Amen.

June 24th

Father, I see us locked in an epic battle, a war of eternal proportions. Yet you, Jesus, our captain, have gone before us to win the victory and secure our triumph by your triumph over sin and death and fear.

You have indeed given us the armament for this spiritual conflict we find ourselves engaged in. Train us Lord; train our hands for war! Keep us from discouragement and despair. Teach us, Lowly and Gentle One.

“Now I wear a crown and I worship You.” We are seated in heavenly places, united with you Jesus. Guard our minds from doubting this and the disparaging thoughts that would distract and weaken.

Assure our hearts, dear Holy Spirit, that we belong to you! We are yours forevermore.

June 23rd

Father, you smile upon me, a sinful man adopted, an evildoer now a son. In my weakness you look upon me with affection. Strengthen me, my righteousness Jesus, to hold on to this truth: that I am yours. Lying lips accuse, deceitful tongues ensnare and lead to despair; but strengthen my resolve, Lord, against such as these, for you Lord are my Savior.

All things work out for good for me, who loves you with all my heart. Though a frail love, it is a love for you. I wait upon you and cling to you Jesus, the bringer of good news, the gospel carrier, my hope and my Savior.

Encourage your people, comfort them. Keep them, keep us, from the lies and punish the evil one with arrows and flames. Silence the evil tongue, O Father our hope.

June 22nd

Lifter of my soul, protector of my heart, guard of my mind. Let the confident assurance of your salvation set and rest upon my mind like a helmet. I put it on and cast aside the lying tongue of Satan, the enemy, my accuser, the stirrer and worrier of my soul.

Sovereign Lord, you have spoken truth, promise for this journey my soul is on, and I wait in confident expectation and hope as you lead me on the path to victory, for you are my strong deliverer.

It is a battle, Lord! But Jesus, you have won this victory for us and guaranteed us to win. And there is my confidence: in you.

So, I put on this helmet of your great, reliable, complete, salvation to the uttermost and march in confidence carrying the sword of your Spirit, the words of truth, your Scripture applied to my life and spoken to me personally.

Give this heart rest and confidence, my Father.

June 21st

You are my refuge Lord, maker of heaven and earth, and I cast my eyes not on me, but on you. I praise you, Father, for the faith you have deposited in me, that powerful, potent, mustard seed size faith. And so, I pray.

Deliver me from my enemies. Draw me to yourself. Give me a sign of your great love for me, that the enemy may flee and be put to shame. And indeed, you have given the greatest of all signs to put the evil fowler to open shame: the cross, proof enough for me! Thank you, Lord!

In me you have placed, by your Spirit, resurrection power. Comforter, would you soothe this soul that I may be able to comfort others in despair and see faith arise? Good works you have prepared for me; let them come, stir them up.

I wait on you, Jesus my Shepherd, to carry me, to lift me, to put your gentle firm hand upon me. Indeed, you have. I wait for your unfailing love.

June 20th

Father, you are a father and I am a father and you know the pain of a child going down the wrong path. You are a just judge and you will certainly quickly hear my prayers, for you are not dozing, you are not falling into slumber, and you do not sleep. You are attentive to the prayers of your righteous ones.

You supply strength and peace; bring it now to us Lord, the parents, whose hearts are at times burdened and crushed by our children’s sufferings and ill decisions. You watch over us, you watch over my children – you have not misplaced them!

You watch, you keep; I have this promise to anchor my hope. I have this forevermore promise and you have proven it true. Give me trust in you that tethers me to your immutable, unchanging character, and makes me like you – a father like you.

June 19th

I praise you Lord, amazing God. You work wonders among men. Let your will be done. Thank you for my brothers, the gathering where I am safe, those who pray for each other. I am blessed.

I pray for those who lack these great blessings: fellowship with family, fellowship with friends. I pray for those who are lonely, bring them true friendship, the fellowship of brothers and sisters.

I pray for those who do not value this treasure, give them repentant hearts and eyes to see what a blessing community is.

Jesus, you said you would build your church; build your church, Lord! Build your temple. Edify your people and have your way among us.

June 18th

Father, draw us. Let us live by the fullness of your Word, the wonderful meal served at the table of Scripture. May your Spirit apply it to our lives. Help us, give us ears to hear and eyes to see. Grant us wisdom to answer the question, “How then shall we live?”

We pray for your church, for revival. And we pray also for the poor, the enslaved, the displaced, the oppressed, the deceived, those in chains, those in prison, the hungry. Lord, we pray, send laborers into these harvests, these fields. We pray, send us where and when you want, and let our hearts be those of humble servants. No task, no matter how inglorious, is too small for us to serve our Lord.

Your yoke is light, your burden is easy. So, we come to be taught by you, the gentle and lowly one. We take your yoke upon us to learn from you and to be your disciples. What a joy, what a relief.

June 17th

Jesus, may your church, the gathering of your holy people in all its places and forms, be not a place of abuse and scandal and cover-up and human judgment and organizational structure. No, let it be a place of peace, security, and safety to a world and a people who need your truth and love. I pray for the peace of your church.

Let us, Lord, be a people that welcomes and builds up. May your church be a refuge, a citadel, a place of protection. Gather your people for your glory and dwelling by your Spirit. Your house is a house of joy. Let there be prayer in that house, let there be excitement and desire to gather under the banner of Jesus.

Be exalted among your people. Purify us, Jesus, merciful God; rebuke us not in anger but gently lead your people to be salt and light and to represent you truly in this earth.

June 16th

Lord, maker of heaven and earth, you sit on your throne, our Father, ruling over all that you have made. My eyes are on you as I wait and watch for your mercy and direction and doings.

Thank you for your Spirit who speaks to me in the night and says, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” So, I pray, casting my anxiety and concerns on you.

Oh, how the enemy Satan and his minions have taunted, stirred, ridiculed, and tried to bring anxiety and doubt. But Jesus, you are over all the power of the enemy and have defeated him and brought him to open shame.

I cast it all on you, Jesus, ruler over the seas and its swellings, and I wait for you to show mercy. And until you do, I watch and wait, and listen for your direction, lover of my soul.

June 15th

Open our eyes, Lord. Where we gather as your people, in your name, there you are in our midst – your kingdom among us, operating in unassuming power, in mysterious ways. We don’t always see you moving, but when we do, let us be thankful for it and amazed at how wise you are to move so graciously among your people.

Let your kingdom come. Let us be willing vessels, children in service to the King, the dwelling place of you, our God.

The scepter of the wicked will not remain in the land allotted for your righteous ones. No, you are victorious in our midst, the Lord rejoicing over us. Strengthen us Father to know and to see this.

In Jesus’ name, the name of rescue and power and deliverance. Amen.

June 14th

Father, you have called us, not to win arguments, but hearts – to capture the hearts of our children, our brothers and sisters, our friends, those that we meet. But oh, how we need the wisdom of your Spirit for this.

Fill us with an understanding, a grasp, of your surrounding love. Let a tether of trust tie us to your immutable, immovable, enduring, and unshakeable nature. Then we will be like mount Zion, your church, the body of hope you have called us to be.

Lord, we long for you, to be near you, to be surrounded by you.

Be glorified Lord; not me, but you. Let men glorify you as I let my light shine. Lord, I don’t want to be the focus; I want people to say, “The Lord has done great things for him.” Let that be, Lord. Thank you for the encouragement of people who appreciate and value me. I don’t diminish this gift from you. Just let me be humble and always point people to you Jesus!

June 13th

Glory to you Father, God; glory to you alone and not to me. According to your great power working in me, you accomplish and enlighten. Glory to you!

Thanks to you, Jesus. My heart is filled and says, “Thanks to you”! You are the one, the Son who set me free. It was for this joyous freedom that you set me free in fields of grace. My chains are gone.

Spirit of Joy, you give joy and a power and faith that grows in my heart by your doing, not mine! And I am grateful. Thank you, Lord, Spirit divine and wonderful.

All praise to you God above all my understanding. What can I do but worship you, and worship you I do today.

June 12th

Filling me with all your fullness, rooting and grounding me in love, giving me the power to grasp how wide, how long, how high, and how deep is the love of Jesus, making me into a man of love, this is your work, a work only you can do. Father, make me into a man of love that Jesus may be glorified and you through Him because of my loving and joy-filled life.

I rest in this. You are able to do it – though it seems a mountainous task, though it goes beyond my knowledge – you are able to make me into a loving and forgiving man. The faith you have deposited is sufficient, the power you have given, enough. Now I rest in this.

Let me be, as my Lord, a man of love.

June 11th

Jesus, it is my prayer, my desire, to be filled with your Spirit, him freely moving and hovering and creating in me a man who reflects you and follows you. You give good gifts to men, and you have sealed me with your Spirit, he lives in my heart. Forgive me for grieving you in any way Lord and give me strength to rest in you.

We have not received the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit – of power, love, and a sound mind. Strengthen us to walk accordingly. Thank you for filling me with your Spirit. Thank you for your grace and giftings. Thank you for mercy.

Your Spirit is called Comforter, the one who comes alongside to help – our assurance, our guarantee. Would you help me, Father, to rest in this promise, to fully partake of you and your goodness? Today I face this day weak, but you are strong.

June 10th

As far as the east is from the west, so you have removed our sins from us; so you have removed our sins from us. So, let us say to any bitter roots within ourselves, “Be uprooted and planted in the sea!” You have cast all our sins into the sea; we are forgiven completely. So we may forgive others – without worry, without reserve, thoroughly, utterly.

Today, Lord, would you let the beautiful breeze of your Holy Spirit move over our lives, refreshing us and bringing new hope? We rely on your Spirit, Jesus; we rely on your might and power and cool water of life. Restore our souls, renew our minds, guide and keep us. Guard our hearts and minds in you, Lord!

We have an abundance to give – our time, our finances – for you have given richly and we are in you. Give us the “single eye” of generosity and let us see the utter ridiculousness of stinginess and worry. Amen!

June 9th

Lord, our labor in you is not in vain. Though we walk at times a trail of tears, sowing as we go, joy will come in the morning; the time of reaping will come. All glory to you Father who strengthens us by your Spirit, who supplies all we need, who fills us with the knowledge of Jesus and your great love for us. You build your house, you build your kingdom, according to your greatness and blessing. You lean in with benefit and we are benefited and grow and accomplish.

This is all a wonderful work of your hands and we, as unworthy servants, cry out to you, “Worthy, worthy, worthy the One who has made us worthy.”

We, the unworthy, cry out to you, “Worthy! Worthy! Worthy! The One who has made us worthy.”

June 8th

Though my eyes may fail and weaken, you are my portion and you do all things well, for you are the Faithful One. Our times are in your hands, and you sit upon an awesome throne above all.

Lord, would you bring health, healing, and restoration to my family? Refresh our souls, Faithful Shepherd.

My words fail me and I am not full, but I leave that up to you, for when I do not know what to pray, you are praying for me; when I lack wisdom, you provide wisdom. You are my portion and my guard, my fullness when I am empty, my strength when I am weak. When I lack motivation, you cover me and pull me through. You are my God forever and ever.

June 7th

Father, you are sovereign, ruler over all circumstances. You have included us into your kingdom, as citizens, as members of the heavenly roster, no longer foreigners. Your grace is for all who would believe and receive it, and we are glad to do so.

Even in the struggle and suffering of your people, you are working for our good, and we are grateful.

Today, would you help me to walk and work properly, aligned with you, your truth, applying what you have taught me, that I may grow and allow all things to lovingly discipline and train me as your child. You provide an endless resource of strength to us, your saints.

I also ask for your wisdom for your people as we face challenges and decisions today. May we honor you in our choices. And also, may we enjoy our laboring as you bring success to all we do. You are the Builder; you are the Watchman.

June 6th

Lord, today I need abundant grace – grace that will overflow in every situation – that I may prosper in every good work that you give me to do; that my labor may be fruitful.

The enemy has sent messengers. They are attracted to me like a yellow jacket to a colorful shirt. They harass and distract. But you work all things together for our good, and even in this, you will prosper. Thank you and I bless you, Lord.

I pray, Holy Spirit, guide my steps, my heart, my thoughts. You still speak to your people. Thank you!

Jesus, let me be like you – abundant in grace, love, and forgiveness, accepting, able, willing.

I praise you Father, maker of heaven and earth, my Father, the glorious Father.

June 5th

Lord, you first in all we do today. We acknowledge you as we labor, do, act. May you be behind all of our acting, doing, and laboring. Unless you build the house, unless you watch over our works and care for them, it is all of nothing; it is all in vain.

Father, would you help me to be a present father, a willing parent, a wise counselor, speaking your words and being silent when silence is wiser than words; may I be always listening. Let this heart be completely forgiving and always generous.

I seek your kingdom and your righteousness. Each moment, Lord, be first. And now I commit this day to you, and receive you, the peace I have in Jesus, the deep assurance that I am yours and that you will never leave nor forsake me.

June 4th

Father, all your ways are loving and faithful, and may I always labor in you to be so to my wife, the wife of my youth. This marriage is a work of your hands, formed in mercy and grace; I thank you and acknowledge it and call it blessed and give you all the glory.

Father, strengthen my hands, my resolve, and put courage in my heart. Build a wall of protection around my family and guard them. Send your army, your holy angels, to do battle for them against the enemy of their souls.

Shepherd of our souls, renew us. Restore our joy, restore our strength. We look to you and trust in you, in you alone who abundantly blesses our provision.

Keep us on the paths of righteousness and let our lives always glorify you. Amen.

June 3rd

Lord, thank you for opportunities to serve you, past, present, and future. Let my attitude in serving be that of a humble servant: unworthy of praise, simply doing my duty to you. Indeed, you will reward, and I look forward to that, but never let me seek the praise of men for service to you.

I labor, I see your blessings, I see your goodness in my life. But all this is by your gracious Spirit, His strength and might. All that I have – any gift of service –comes from you. Should I do anything less than serve you?

Give us, your church, your body, this attitude. Let us not judge one another; we are fellow servants. Let us only build up and labor “heads down” in love to your glory.

Amen.

June 2nd

Let my words be pleasing to you Lord – gracious, salted, enriching others. You deal with this heart, that is what you are concerned about. Lord, change my heart at its deepest depths. You are my full redemption, my complete salvation. So, I come to you. I come to you as I am.

You see all, you know all, and yet you knock, you desire to come in and fellowship with me, to sit around the table of true dining. And so, I say, come Lord Jesus; enter every part of my heart and let our fellowship be sweet, deep, intimate, sincere, and pure.

You are the Potter, and I am the clay; thank you for calling me, for choosing me, for setting me apart. Let your purposes be fulfilled in my life gracious God; and I will praise you throughout all eternity.

June 1st

Lord, thank you for the day. Thank you for the opportunity – I seek it and seek strength to take advantage of it. Today, let your kingdom come and your will be done. I remember the poor, the homeless, the abused. Here I am Lord! All I have is yours, joyfully.

Today let my heart rest in you, a place of abundance of joy and peace and amazing love. There are those who are willing, hungry people who will hear the gospel of rest and peace with God, the Father, the gospel of abundant life, that which is true life.

Shake up others, the lost, those who know you not, and bring them to repentance. Father! Would you draw the sinner, man and woman, to yourself? In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
